George M. Baker, Jr.

George M. Baker Jr., 75, of Glenville, loving husband of Michelle A. (Neff) Baker, entered into God's eternal care on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at UPMC York Memorial Hospital.

Born on June 25, 1951, at the Carlisle Army Hospital, he was the son of the late George M. Baker, Sr. and Joyce A. (Reigle) Baker. George graduated from Hershey High School in 1969 and earned his degree in industrial engineering from Penn State University in 1973.

George was a dedicated and hardworking man throughout his career. Over the years, he worked for Hanover Direct, Child Craft, and Blue Cross Blue Shield before retiring from Lowe's. He took pride in his work and appreciated the friendships he made along the way.

A proud Penn State alumnus, he remained an avid fan of Penn State athletics, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Philadelphia Eagles. Whether watching a game with family or cheering on his favorite teams, his enthusiasm and loyalty never wavered. He was also a member of Grace Methodist Church and the Hanover Lions Club.

Above all, George cherished time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who was always willing to share a story and a laugh.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 44 years, are his three daughters, Kristen Y. Feaga (James) of East Petersburg, PA; Meghan N. Schmidt (Matthew) of Elizabethtown, PA; and Natalie M. Baker (Christopher Kuhn) of Hanover, PA; three grandsons, Isaiah, Aaron, and Logan; a granddaughter, Ava; siblings, Vicki J. Welsh (Milton), Susan E. Payne (Kim), and John S. Baker (Charlene); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Lynn Baker.

A service to celebrate and remember George’s life will be held 11 Am, Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with his Pastor the Rev. Todd A. Christine officiating.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  A visitation will be held from 10 -11 Am, Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the funeral home.
