Geraldine (Geri) A. Nelson, 87, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 11, 1938, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Theresa M. (Seidl) Marshall. Geri was the loving wife of the late Ronald C. Nelson, with whom she shared almost 67 years of marriage, until his passing on April 13, 2025.
Geri was a graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame, Baltimore, MD.
Geri was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, serving on the Altar Rosary Society. In her younger years she enjoyed helping and contributing to the church bazaars and serving on the bereavement luncheon team.
Geri enjoyed gardening (and willingly shared her fresh vegetables with all), flowers in her flowerbed, reading, singing, sewing, and bargain hunting. Nothing gave her more pleasure than holding a baby! She loved talking and texting with her children and their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, and friends. Geri and her one-line expressions will be missed by all.
Geri is survived by her children, Kathleen Doucet, Jean Marie Nelson, John Nelson and wife Danna, Patricia Keffer, Jacqueline Brady and husband Randy, Joseph Nelson and wife Terri, and Susan Nickol and husband Michael, her grandchildren, Katy, Allison, Emma, Ashley, Brian, Justin, Stephanie, Zachary, Lucas, Aaron, Andy, and Ryan, her great grandchildren, Atlas, Harper, Ben, Elliott, Adley, Ivy, Alissa, Kaylee, Devan, Blaire, Khloe, Kendall, Kamden, Konnor, Madison, Dominic, Knox, and one on the way, and one sister Sylvia Twele, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Francis Marshall, William Marshall, Daretta Brown, and Marcella Milby, one grandson Nate, and one great grandson, Dexter.
Following cremation, services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA 17331 or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
