Gloria J. Zercher

Gloria J. Zercher, 93, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Hamilton Arms Center, Lancaster, PA.   

Born June 23, 1931, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl L. and Thelma A. (Reed) Stuffle.   Gloria was the loving wife of the late Albert W. Zercher who died March 30, 2017, and the late Richard C. Smith who died in April 1955. 

Gloria was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.

Gloria was a 1949 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Hanover, PA.  She worked at Clark’s Shoe Company for many years.

Gloria loved gardening, bowling, crocheting, knitting, doing puzzles, and especially spending time with her family.

Gloria is survived by four children, Donald E. Smith of Hanover, PA, Diane K. Hofe of Bloomsburg, PA, Earl R. Smith of Hanover, PA, and Wendy S. Nolt of Lancaster, PA; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Evelyn Strausbaugh, Mary Bunty, Linda Hartlaub, Richard Stuffle, Jim Stuffle, and John Stuffle.  She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy E. Smith.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Gloria’s life will be held 11:30 AM, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Pastor Michael Nolt officiating.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:30-11:30 AM, Wednesday July 31, 2024, at the funeral home.
