Gloria Jean Fahnestock, 78, of Manton, MI and formerly of Hanover, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Munson Medical Center.
Born on July 21, 1947, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, she was the eldest of five children to William A. and Helen G. (Bankert) Brooks. She grew up in Hanover, attending Southwest High School. Gloria continued her education with classes at the Yorktowne Business Institute. On April 14, 1968, she entered into marriage with Charles E. Fahnestock Jr., and they were blessed with two boys.
Gloria enjoyed cooking, crafts, puzzle books, Mary Higgins Clark novels, Murder She Wrote, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, and Hallmark Channel movies. She could often be found working on a puzzle book with her cup of tea or falling asleep during her shows.
Gloria was a former member of Antioch Bible Church in Mesick, MI, and St. Paul's Dubs United Church of Christ in Hanover, PA, for many years and will be deeply missed by many.
Gloria is survived by her son, William Fahnestock of Manton; her siblings, Rose Simpson, Karen Keister, and Roger Brooks; her granddaughters, Ginetta and Lynzie; as well as several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, David Michael Fahnestock; her husband, Charles; and a sister, Dorothy Winter.
A service to celebrate and remember Gloria’s life will be held11 AM, Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory. Inc. 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Her urn will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. The family will receive friends and share memories from 10-11 AM, Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the funeral home.
