Harold W. Raubenstine, 94, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Sunday, July 10, 2022, at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Utz Terrace Nursing Center.
Born February 13, 1928, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Walter S. and Mary C. (Barnhart) Raubenstine. Harold was the loving husband of Joyce (Myers) Raubenstine with whom he shared 73 years of marriage.
Harold was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA., where he was an Usher and Greeter for the last 20 plus years. He was baptized and a former 60 plus year member of St. Bartholomew’s United Church, ELCA, where he was a former Sunday School Superintendent, and former member of Church Council.
Harold was a dairy farmer for 44 years and a beef farmer for 5 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the York County Farm Bureau, York County Executive Committee, and a life member of the State Farmer’s Union. He was a lifelong farmer and was always available to help his fellow farmers.
Harold was involved in the community as a former PTA officer at West Manheim School, and a volunteer at The Hanover Area Council of Churches for 14 years, where he served on the Building Committee.
In addition to his loving wife Joyce, Harold is survived by his children, Dennis H. Raubenstine and wife Karen, Darrell L. Raubenstine and wife Sheila, and Karen Saum and husband Donald; 10 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn M. Spotts. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dawn A. Nace, a great granddaughter, Halle A. Nace, and two brothers, Nevin E. Raubenstine, and Gerald B. Raubenstine.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Harold’s life will be held 11 AM, Thursday, July 14, 2022, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut Street, Hanover, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman officiating. A time to view and share memories with the family will be held from 10 to 11 AM, Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
Serving as casketbearers will be Timothy Raubenstine, Chris Raubenstine, Todd Nace, Zachary Saum, Kyle Raubenstine, and Evan Raubenstine.
