Helen B. (Engleman Clingenpeel) Grizzell, 91, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her home.
Born May 5, 1933, in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late David J. and Anna F. (Davies) Engleman. Helen was the loving wife of Eugene Thomas Grizzell, to whom she married August 19, 1961, and was predeceased May 8, 2022.
Helen attended Kenwood High School in Baltimore, MD. She worked for Doubleday for 16 years, and then went to work in product service at Black & Decker for 10 years until her retirement in 1997.
In her younger years, Helen enjoyed camping, fishing and attending water classes at the Hanover YMCA. She also loved her cats, Angel and Precious.
Helen is survived by her children, Patricia (Clingenpeel) Reese and partner, Carol Wakefield of Adamstown, PA, Steven Grizzell and wife, Bonnie of York, PA, and Donna Wagner and husband, Brian of Hanover, PA; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and life- long friend and “sister”, Arlene Simpson of Middle River, MD.
Helen was also preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas J. Clingenpeel in 1960; two sons, Mark A. Grizzell in 1963 and Thomas J. Clingenpeel in 2015; a brother, David J. “Bud” Engleman Jr. and a sister, Ruth N. Reynolds.
A funeral service to remember Helen’s life will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331, with Rev. Dr. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held 7 – 9 PM, Monday, July 1, 2024, and 10 – 11 AM, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the funeral home.
