Helena M. Miller

Helena M. Miller, 99, of Hanover, PA, entered God's eternal care Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Brethren Home.

Born August 15, 1924, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clitus and Hilda (Krumrine) Meckley.  Helena was the loving wife of the late Daniel W. Miller, Sr., with whom she shared 38 years of marriage until his passing on July 12, 1984.

Helena was a member of Calvary Bible church.  She worked as a loom operator for Revonah Spinning Mills for many years.

Helena enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid reader of her bible.  She loved spending time with her family and friends. 

Helena is survived by her six children, Patricia A. Bentzel, Sharon K. Bortner and husband Gary, Karen M. Henry, Daniel W. Miller, Jr. and wife Linda, Jeffrey S. Miller and wife Pam, and Lori M. Wise and husband Randy, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and one brother, Earl Meckley.  She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Darwin J. Henry and Richard W. Bentzel, Jr., and eight siblings,  Clitus Meckley, Jr., Charlotte Dubbs, Doris Cashman, Gladys Wildasin, Elwood Meckley, Sterling Meckley, Glenn Meckley, and Ruthana Markle.

A service to celebrate and remember Helena’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with Pastor Dom Aquilino and Dan Dellosso officiating.  Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, PA.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helena’s name to Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
