Herbert H. "Herb, Herbie" Stormes

Herbert H. “Herb, Herbie” Stormes, 76, of Hanover, PA entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, September 12, 2025, at his home.

Born December 5, 1948, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Meredith H. and Doris (Eckenrode) Stormes.  Herb was the loving husband of Alice M. (Krumrine) Stormes with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Herb was a 1968 graduate of Hanover Senior High School.  He served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971.

Herb was a member of the Hanover AMVETS Post 22 and the McSherrystown Home Association.

Herb worked as a carpenter for 43 years for Grover Hansford and Sons. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, campfires, being at Windsor Lodge, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Alice, He is also survived by two children, Nathan H. Stormes and wife Heather of Hanover, PA, and Burt J. Stormes of Mechanicsburg, PA; three grandchildren, Fenton Stormes and Paisley Stormes both of Hanover, PA, and Jaxon Stormes of Mechanicsburg, PA; and four siblings, Mike Stormes and wife Sally of Abbottstown, PA, Rita Myers of McSherrystown, PA, Donna Topper of Hanover, PA, and Connie Kuhn and husband Pat of McSherrystown, PA, and many nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 1-4 PM, at The Hanover AMVETS Post 22, 206 Broadway, Hanover, PA.
