Horace L. “Junnie” Farley, Jr., 71, of York, PA, entered God’s Eternal care, Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the York Hospital.
Born March 14, 1949 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Horace L. Sr., and Margaret E. (Ernst) Farley. Horace was the loving husband of Ronna J. (MacAvoy) Farley with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Junnie was a veteran of the United States Marines having served as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He was a 1967 graduate of South Western High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Business from York College in 1986.
Junnie began his career as an accounting manager with SKF in Hanover and retired from General Dynamics in 2014 with 28 years of service.
Junnie was a member of the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club as well as the McSherrystown Home Association where he was the treasurer for over 30 years.
Junnie enjoyed all the family time with his wife, children, & grandchildren, and loved being involved and supporting their many activities and sporting events. He also enjoyed his responsibilities as treasurer at the McSherrystown Home Association and all the friendships he developed through this organization.
In addition to his loving wife, Ronna, Junnie is survived by his children, Brad Farley, Sr. and wife Beth of East Berlin, PA, and Shannon Heap and husband Colin of York, PA; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Allison, Brad Farley, Jr., MacKenzie Farley, Kyra Heap, and Ella Heap; two great grandchildren, Wyatt Allison, and Lily Farley; and two sisters, Elaine Baumgardner and Patricia Simpson.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Junnie’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Scott Sager officiating. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00PM, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail. In compliance with heath and public safety directives, those attending the viewing will be required to wear masks, be socially distanced and attendance inside the funeral home will be limited.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Junnie’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 50 East King Street, York, PA 17401.
