Jacqueline Y. Grenier

Jacqueline Yvonne (Blocher) Grenier, 87, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Thursday, April 16, 2026, at SpiriTrust Lutheran at Utz Terrace, Hanover, PA, with her loving family by her side.

Born December 29, 1938, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Horace B. and Hazel M. (Shipley) Blocher. Jacqueline was the loving wife of the late Edouard J. Grenier, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage until his passing on May 1, 1997.

Jacqueline was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.

Jacqueline was a graduate of Eichelberger High School and Shippensburg University. Having followed a passion for education, she touched the lives of countless students in the South Western School District, and ended her teaching career at Emory H. Markle Intermediate School in 1995.

Jacqueline enjoyed reading, painting, crocheting, needlework and especially family vacations in Cape May, NJ.

In addition to her husband, Ed, Jacque was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa K. Peterson.

Jacqueline is survived by two daughters, Lori and husband Kent Stanley of King George, VA and Leslie and husband Ed McHugh of York, PA. Jacqueline will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren: Desiree Conn and husband Larry, James McHugh and wife Tori, Alexis McClair and husband Chris, Michael McHugh, Monique Hall, Daniel McHugh and wife Liv, and Kendall Stanley. In addition, Jacqueline was the proud G-Nanny to six great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Bonnie Allison of New Oxford, PA.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Jacqueline’s name to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut Street, Hanover, PA 17331; VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 Madison St., Hanover PA 1733; or to your favorite charity.
