James L. Wright, Jr.

James Lynn Wright, Jr., 49, of Gettysburg, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.

Born May 24, 1972, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of James L. Wright, Sr. and Rebecca J. (Null) Wright, and the stepson of Kara (Helwig) Wright. 

James was a 1991 graduate of South Western High School, Hanover, PA.  He was a forklift operator for ESAB.

James was a member of St. Paul’s Dubs UCC, of Hanover, PA.

James was a member of the Hanover Eagles, the Republican Club, the Jefferson Rifle Club, and the Thunder Hill Gun Club (the family cabin).  James loved hunting and fishing, going to concerts, playing the guitar, and especially spending time with his family, and playing with his dog “Jake”. 

In addition to his father, mother, and stepmother, James is survived by his daughter, Kaycee L. Wright of Littlestown, PA; two brothers, Scott A. Wright, Sr. of Spring Grove, PA, and Clint A. Wright of Glenville, PA; two sisters, Gina M. Noble of Seven Valleys, PA, and Cassandra E. McLucas of Spring Grove, PA; many aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews; his girlfriend, Nicole Black; his dog “Jake”; and his grand dog “Willow”.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember James will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Scott A.  Sager officiating.  Burial will be in St. Paul’s Dubs Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, August 2, 2021, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, and from 10:00-11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network, 1249 Cocoa Ave #115, Hershey, PA 17033.
