James Eugene “Jim” Burnett, 75, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Friday, August 27, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 22, 1946, in Terre Haute, IN, Jim was the son of the late James E. & Helen A. (Bowsher) Burnett. He was the loving husband of Patrice (Gramlich) Burnett with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
Jim was a 1964 graduate of Wiley High School in Terre Haute, IN. He was a veteran, serving his country proudly in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of Sergeant.
Following Jim’s military career, he worked as an electrical engineer at Northrop Grumman (Westinghouse) for 33 years, until his retirement in February of 2006.
Jim was a member of the American Legion.
In his free time, Jim enjoyed configuring and flying remote control airplanes and drones. He was very interested in computers and electronics as well. Flying and sailing were some of his favorite past times, as well as spending time with his loving family.
In addition to his loving wife Patrice, Jim is survived by his sons, Sean M. Burnett & wife Julie, and Scott A. Burnett, both of Hanover, PA, and two grandchildren, Jessica and Ryan Burnett. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Lambdin.
Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate and remember Jim’s life will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331 with Reverend Scott Sager officiating. Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail will provide Military Honors. The memorial service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the funeral home.
