James “Jim” L. Gebhart, 88, of Bonneauville, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Born December 23, 1936, in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of the late Raymond, Sr., and Mildred (Groft) Gebhart. Jim was the loving husband of Joan “Skip” G. (Smith) Gebhart with whom he recently celebrated 70 years of marriage on May 21, 2025.
Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bonneauville, PA.
Whether he was camping in the woods, riding horses under open skies, or relaxing in his second home in Florida, he always returned to what mattered most – family gathered around him at home. A true craftsman, he built over 100 homes during his career, many of them anchoring one of Bonneauville’s first developments: Springfield Estates. Now after a life spent building for others, he is welcomed into a home not made by hands. “In my Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2).
In addition to his wife, Joan, Jim is survived by his children, Pamela A. Krebs and husband Mark of Hanover, PA, Kevin J. Gebhart and wife Dot of Gettysburg, PA, Sharon M. Stine and husband Scott of Mechanicsburg, PA, Barbara A. Floyd and husband Tony of Hanover, PA, and Tina M. Livelsberger and husband Mike of Gettysburg, PA, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren.
