James L. “Cork” Miller, 81 of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, June 12, 2026, at UPMC Hanover Hospital.

Born January 28, 1945, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond L. and Mary C. (Noel) Miller.  Cork was the loving husband of Nancy L. (Cromer) Miller with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Cork was a 1962 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.  He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class from 1962 to 1966.

Cork worked for Bethlehem Steel and later was the manager of The McSherrystown Home Association for over 20 years until his retirement.

He also was a life member of the McSherrystown Home Association.

Cork enjoyed playing cards, going to PA Elk Country and spending time with his family and friends.

Known for his quick wit and great sense of humor, Cork always had the ability to make people smile. His jokes, stories, and playful personality were always enjoyed by everyone who knew him.

Cork was the kind of person who would help anyone in need without hesitation, whether it was lending a hand, offering advice or simply being there when someone needed something.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Cork is survived by his sons, Chad M. Miller and his wife DeAnna of Stevensville, MD, Jason R. Miller and his wife Wendy of Lynchburg, VA, his siblings, Robert C. Miller and his wife Sandy of Brogue, PA, Donald R. Miller of Irishtown, PA, Jean M. Whitson of Hanover, PA, and two grandsons AJ and Michael.
