Janice Helen (Rebert) Kunkel (92) passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2021 after a long battle with dementia.

She was born September 25, 1928, in Adams County, to the late Ornan and Helen McGlaughlin Rebert, of Orrtanna.  Janice was a 1947 graduate of Gettysburg High School and worked in the office of the Hanover Cable Company before her retirement.  She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Hanover.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Kunkel, and her son-in-law, Warren G. Klunk.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane R. Klunk, and son, David R. Kunkel; grandchildren, State Representative Kate Klunk and her husband Jared Laird; James Klunk and his wife Christine; and Jenna Klunk and her husband Matthew Mueller; great-grandchildren, Grace and Claire Laird and James A. Klunk, Jr. (Jak) all of Hanover; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Rebert of Orrtanna; and several nieces and nephews.

Playing cards, baking, sewing, knitting, solving puzzles, spending time with her family at her cabin and at the beach were a few of her favorite things.

Janice’s family would like to thank the staff at Homewood for so ably caring for her.

Following cremation, the family will hold a private graveside service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
