Jay R. Bittle

Jay R. Bittle, 73, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Tree of Life Memory Care, Hanover, PA, with his loving family by his side.

Born November 17, 1952, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Merle and Leona (Arentz) Bittle.  Jay was the loving husband of Ann M. (Rebert) Bittle with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. 

Jay was a 1971 graduate of Littlestown High School, Littlestown, PA.  He was a machinist at SKF Industries for 40 years until his retirement.

Jay was a member of the McSherrystown Home Association. 

Jay loved sports, he played softball and football in high school, and was an avid golfer. 

In addition to his loving wife Ann, Jay is survived by his son, Jason L. Bittle and wife Kristine; 2 grandchildren, Finley and Bennett; and a brother, Barry Bittle of Montana.  He was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Nancy Kelbaugh and Robert Bittle.

A service to celebrate and remember Jay will be held 11AM, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., with Rev. John Yost officiating.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10-11AM, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jay’s name to Tree of Life, Memory Care, 3101 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA 17331, or to the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
