Jean E. Palmer, 92, entered into God's eternal care on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Brethren Home, New Oxford, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Ernest H. Palmer, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage until his passing on October 20, 2015.
Born October 15, 1932, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Luke W. and Naomi C. (Hassler) Rohrbaugh.
Jean retired after many years as a substitute teacher in the Hanover and South Western School Districts.
Jean was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for many years as well as the Hanover Red Cross. She enjoyed being with her family especially her grandkids.
Jean is survived by her sons, Gary L. Palmer and his wife, Denise of Sterling, Va., and Brian J. Palmer and his wife, Pat of Hanover; two grandsons, Christopher K. Palmer of Sterling, Va., and Kyle A. Palmer of Hanover, and one great granddaughter, Sara Jean Palmer. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gladys R. Brown, Madeline L. Mitchell, and Earl H. Rohrbaugh.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held 11 AM, Friday, November 15, 2024, at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
