Jeffrey C. “Chuck” McDannell, 67, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the UPMC Hanover Hospital.
Born January 5, 1956, Hanover, PA, Chuck was the son of the late Russell G. and Lila C. (Hansford) McDannell. Chuck was the loving husband to Theresa C. (Magness) McDannell with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.
Chuck worked as a chef and restaurant owner/operator or manager most of his life. He was owner/operator of the Centennial Inn, manager of the Hanover Amvets, and chef/general manager of the Mt. Holly Inn.
He was a member of the Hanover Church of the Brethren.
Chuck enjoyed cooking, hunting, and fishing in his free time. In his earlier days, he was active in powerlifting. He was a member of the YMCA and the World Powerlifting Federation.
In addition to his wife, Theresa, Chuck is survived by his son, Steven Magness of Indianapolis, IN, and grandson, Sam Berry. Chuck also leaves behind his sister, Deborah A. McDannell of Hanover, PA.
A graveside service to celebrate and remember Chuck’s life will be held 11 AM, Monday, November 20, 2023, at Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be from 6 PM to 8 PM, Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
