Jeffrey R. Small

Jeffrey R. Small, 70, of Gettysburg, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, July 6, 2024, at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Gettysburg with his loving family by his side.

Born May 16, 1954, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond F. and Doris L. (Golden) Small.  Jeffrey was the loving husband of Vivian K. (Hess) Small with whom he shared thirty-three years of marriage, and the late Diane R. (Wehrly) Small. 

Jeffrey was a 1972 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.

Jeffrey was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville, PA, and served as a lector, and on the parish council and finance committee, worked on fundraisers including the golf tournament, the Gift Card Club, and started the 400 Club.

Jeffrey retired from Westinghouse with sixteen years of service.  He was a life member of the American Legion of Gettysburg, and the Catholic War Veterans in Bonneauville, PA.

Jeffrey enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and managing and coaching softball for many years.

In addition to his loving wife, Vivian, Jeffrey is survived by his stepdaughters, Kristin D. Snyder and husband Greg, Karie L. Newman and husband Nathan, and Megan K. Marshall and husband Dave; four grandchildren Logan, Madison, Vanessa, and Lynnea; and siblings, Lorie Keeney and husband Richard, Karen Martin, Brad Small and wife Sandi, and David “Jake” Small and wife Kathleen.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Justina Ruth Small; and brother, James Small.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and remember Jeffrey will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 E. Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, with Father Benny Jose as celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Church Cemetery.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 5:00PM-8:00PM, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Brett Keeney, Mark Keeney, Rick Keeney, Brad Small, Jake Small, and Logan Snyder.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeffrey’s name to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325, or to Delone Catholic High School, 140 South Oxford Avenue, McSherrystown, PA 17344.
