Joan R. Marchio

Joan R. Marchio, 93, formerly of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care Sunday, October 26, 2025, at her home in Ellendale, DE, with her loving family by her side. 

Born June 23, 1932, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer N. and Ethel M. (Border) Rohrbaugh. She was the loving wife of the late Donald E. Marchio, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage until his passing on September 29, 2005. 

Joan was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover.

Mrs. Marchio was a medical secretary for Dr. Gardner for 14 years from 1968-1982, and worked as an examiner for Pillowtex for 3 years.

Joan is survived by her son, Jedrey E. Marchio of Ellendale, DE; a special niece, Sally A. Staub of Hanover, PA; a stepson, Michael A. Marchio of Hanover, PA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald E. Rohrbaugh of Hanover, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce A. Kintzing.

Funeral services to celebrate and remember Joan's life will be held at 11AM, Monday, November 3, 2025, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Dr. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  Visitations and times to share memories with the family will be from 1-3PM, Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, and from 10-11AM, Monday, November 3, 2025, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joan's name to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
