Joanne M. Sheely

Joanne M. Sheely, 67, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Gettysburg Nursing Center, Gettysburg, PA.

Born January 23, 1956, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Francis E. and Mary L. (Staub) Redding.  Joanne was the loving wife of the late Steve E. Sheely with whom she shared 30 years of marriage until his passing on February 21, 2006.

Mrs. Sheely was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA.

Joanne was a 1974 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.  She was a retail manager for Staples of Hanover for 26 years until her retirement in April 2020.  

Mrs. Sheely enjoyed baking, sewing, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. 

Joanne is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Sheely of Baltimore, MD, and Jessica LeGrant and husband Kiem of Hanover, PA, three grandchildren, Easton Nguyen, Madden Nguyen, and Lenyx LeGrant, and seven siblings, Jean Laughman, John Redding, Ben Redding, Vince Redding, Bob Redding, Mary Kale, and Paula Arnsberger.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Phil Redding.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 26, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Msgr. James Lyons as celebrant.   Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA as well as from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the church.
