Joanne “Jodie” E. Miller, 76, of Silver Springs, MD, entered God’s eternal care on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Springs, MD.
Born October 25, 1949, in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Donald E., Sr. and Anna E. (Bupp) Myers. Jodie was the loving wife of Vernon A. Miller, with whom she shared 33 years of marriage until his passing on March 15, 2026.
Jodie was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA.
Jodie was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School, and received a B.S. in Sociology from Penn State University, and a master’s in teaching from Mt. Saint Mary’s University. She was a social worker for Adams County, working with their migrant programs.
Jodie enjoyed going on bicycle trips, belonged to several bicycle clubs, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Jodie is survived by her brothers, Michael R. Myers, Donald Myers, Jr., John P. Myers, and Stephen D. Myers; and a sister, Teresa M. Myers. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alan L. Myers, David J. Myers, and James R. Myers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM, Monday, March 23, 2026, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, with Father Benny Jose officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Church Cemetery, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8PM, Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, as well as from 10 -11 AM, Monday, March 23, 2026 at the church.
