John P. E. Fike, Sr., 82 of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, March 12, 2021, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born May 9, 1939, in Aurora, WV, he was the son of the late Olonzo P. and Ardith R. (Wotring) Fike. John was the loving husband of the late Romaine (Eltz) Long Fike with whom he shared 16 years of marriage until her passing on May 31, 2011.
John worked as a teacher in Baltimore County, MD for 15 years and then for over 25 years as a self-employed painter and also was a former driver for Diana’s Limousine in Littlestown.
John was a member of the Hanover Church of the Brethren, the Hanover Standard Bred Chorus and Quartet. He had a passion for music and cars.
John is survived by his son, John P. E. Fike, Jr. of New Oxford, PA; two grandson, William T. Fike and Christian J. Fike both of Middletown, MD; and his twin sister, Evangeline Turner of York, PA.
A funeral service to remember John’s life will be held at 2 PM, Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Hanover Church of the Brethren, 601 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA, with his Pastor, the Rev. Dick Godfrey officiating. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be from 1 – 2 PM, Friday, March 18, 2022, at the church. Burial will be in Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, WV.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to the Hanover Church of the Brethren, 601 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
