Joyce M. Barnhart

Joyce M. Barnhart, 90, of Littlestown, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Monday, July 8, 2024, at Columbia Cottage Nursing Center.

Born December 15, 1933, in Brodbecks, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Rinehart) Zumbrum.  Joyce was the loving wife of Denton B. Barnhart with whom she shared 23 years of marriage.  She was the wife of the late Lealand L. Shearer and the late George  Masemer who died June 13, 1972. 

Joyce was a member of New Hope Faith Community Church, Hanover, PA

Joyce retired from the former Sears Department store after 22 years of service.

In addition to her husband Denton, Joyce is survived by one son, Rickey G. Masemer and wife Vicki of Littlestown, PA, 2 grandchildren, Chad Masemer and Andrea Spangler, one brother, Jeffrey Zumbrum, and one sister, Judy Rummel.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Gerald Zumbrum, and one sister, Arlene Kopp.

A graveside service will be held 10 AM, Monday, July 15, 2024, at St. David’s Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA, with Chaplain Daniel Summers officiating.  As per Joyce’s wishes there will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice Program of the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
