Joyce E. Werner, 86, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Friday, May 8, 2026, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA.

Born December 27, 1939, in Baltimore County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter G. and Sadie A. (Brenneman) Thomas.  Joyce was the loving wife of Dale J. Werner with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. 

Joyce was a member of St. David’s United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA, and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class.

Joyce was a 1957 graduate of Hereford High School, Parkton, MD.  She was a bookkeeper at Manchester Pants Co. for 20 years until her retirement, she took care of all of the financials at the family farm.  Joyce was a member of A.A.R.P., and the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary, where she was treasurer for numerous years. 

Joyce loved gardening, caring for others, and spending time with her family. 

In addition to her loving husband Dale, Joyce is survived by her daughter, Brenda W. Parsons and husband Matthew of Hadley, MA; two grandchildren, Christopher Parsons and wife Regina, and Katelyn Parsons and husband Keith Landers; a great grandson, Noah Parsons; and a sister, Maretta S. Baer of York, PA.     

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Joyce will be held 1:00PM, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA, with her pastor, the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating.  Burial will be in St. David’s Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 11:00AM-1:00PM, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the church.
