Judith J. Valentine

Judith J. Valentine, 69, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Friday, May 19, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born February 20, 1954, in Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Elizabeth A. (Schmidt) McDermott. Judith was the loving companion for 40 years of Harold J. Nugent.

Judith was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA. Judith enjoyed crocheting, canning, gardening, loved playing bingo, and most especially enjoyed being a mom, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her companion Harold, Judith is survived by her children, Lisa Prevete and husband Peter, Gerald Valentine and wife Michelle, and Karen Ott and husband Carl, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and her siblings, George McDermott, Elizabeth Nelson, Richard McDermott, Phyllis Panzo, Mary Palazzolo, and John McDermott.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5225 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with as celebrant. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Judith’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or the SpiriTrust Hospice Program, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, York, PA 17404.
