Judith I. Alt

Judith I. Alt, 83, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Thursday, August 27, 2026, at UPMC Hanover Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born August 24, 1943, in Baltimore City, MD, she was the daughter of the late Oscar D. Densmore and Berta L. Lone.  Judith was the loving wife of Francis “Frank” B. Alt with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. 

Judith was a member of Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, McSherrystown, PA. 

Judith was a 1961 graduate of Southern High School, Baltimore, MD.  She was a secretary in the Applied Physics Lab at Johns Hopkins University for many years until her retirement.

Judith was a devout Catholic, and treasured the religious pilgrimages she took to Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina(formerly Yugoslavia) and elsewhere.  She was a gifted oil painter, and enjoyed painting, especially portraits, landscapes, and pictures of the Holy Family. 

In addition to her loving husband, Frank, Judith is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth E. Conniff of Hanover, PA; two grandchildren, Taylor Conniff of Hanover, PA, currently studying early childhood education at Millersville University, and Hannah Conniff of Reston, VA, currently a Corporal in the United Stated Marine Corps; a brother, Richard K. Densmore of Baltimore, MD; and a sister, Barbara A. Diblasi of Baltimore, MD. 

A visitation will be held from 9AM-10AM, Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  Eulogies will be held at 10AM at the funeral home, followed by a procession to Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, 26 N. Third Street, McSherrystown, PA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM, Friday, September 4, 2026, at the church, with Father Richard Lyons as celebrant.  Burial will be in Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, McSherrystown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Judith’s memory may be made to the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, 16330 Grotto Road, Emmitsburg, MD 21727,
