It is with profound sadness that the family of Kaitlin E. Stranick announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the age of 30. Born in State College, PA, she was the daughter of Stephan J. and Jennifer L. (West) Stranick.
Kaitlin was a 2011 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, a 2015 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation, and a 2022 graduate of Drexel University with a master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis.
After working at Kid’s Peace and Springfield Hospital Center, Kate found her dream job as a Behavior Specialist at Sheppard-Pratt in Towson, MD where she cared for children experiencing mental health issues.
Kaitlin was a member of Annunciation, B.V.M. Catholic Church, McSherrystown, PA, Therapy Dogs International, the United States Equestrian Federation, United States Hunter Jumper Association, and Central PA Junior Horse Show Association.
Kaitlin had a great love for her family, friends, “her” kids at Sheppard Pratt and for all animals large & small. Kate loved riding horses and spent most of her free time at her second home, Swan Lake Stables in Littlestown, PA. Kate had a special gift for making people smile, for calming a spirited horse, and for comforting a child in crisis. Her laugh and honest approach to life will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Kate is lovingly remembered by her parents; her siblings, Isabella M. Stranick, Sophia A. Stranick, and Stephan J. Stranick; her maternal grandparents, Stephen F. and Kristine E. (Metroka) West; her paternal grandparents, Stephen J. and Janice M. (Cimbalista) Stranick; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends and share memories on December 19th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Kenworthy Funeral Home, 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on December 20th at Annunciation, B.V.M. Catholic Church, 26 N 3rd Street, McSherrystown, PA with Father Richard Lyons as celebrant.
