Karen S. Christian, 71, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Pappus House in Thomasville, PA.

Born February 7, 1955, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of Machree and Harry Baumgardner. Karen was the loving wife of Paul Christian Jr., with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.

Karen was a devoted and active member of St. Paul’s Dubs United Church of Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she was known for her kind and giving heart. She faithfully served her church community by teaching Sunday School, assisting with Bible school, serving as Sunday School secretary, and serving on the altar guild.

Karen’s greatest joy was being a stay-at-home mom. She also spent much of her life caring for others—helping with household tasks, tending to flowers, and offering a helping hand wherever it was needed. She was always ready and willing to support those around her.

She found great happiness in gardening, especially tending to her beloved flowers, as well as buying and selling antiques, making and selling crafts, searching for treasures at yard sales and auctions, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Karen is survived by her husband, Paul Christian Jr.; her daughter, Kelly Cote and her husband, Phillip Cote, and their son, Max Cote; and her daughter, Kara Christian and her son, Isaiah Christian. She is also survived by her mother, Machree Baumgardner; her siblings, Barry Baumgardner and his wife, Deb, Luann Myers and her husband, Dave, Joyce Sager and her husband, Steve, and Lamar Baumgardner and his wife, Sharon; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A private service to celebrate and honor Karen’s life will be held at Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Dubs United Church of Christ Cemetery in Hanover, PA.
