Kermit Burger Obituary

Kermit T. Burger, 85, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at home with his loving family by his side.

Born October 22, 1934, in Davis, WV, he was the son of the late Guy E. and Nina (Walizer) Burger.  He was the loving husband of Barbara J. (Corrall) Burger with whom he shared sixty-one years of marriage.

Kermit was a 1953 graduate of Davis High School, Davis, WV.  He was veteran of the United States Army having served his country proudly from 1957 – 1959 and then in the reserves from 1959 - 1963.

Kermit retired from Local #37 after many years of service as a heavy equipment operator. He also worked after retirement for the Eastern Caisson Company.  He was a Free and Accepted Mason and a member of the American Legion.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, Kermit is survived by his loving family, Therese Burger Cashen and husband Michael, and Katrina Burger Amigo and former husband Matt; four grandchildren, Maura, Brenna, and Gabriel Cashen, and Jared Amigo; and a brother, Robert Burger. 

A funeral service will be held 10:30AM, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA with Deacon Thomas Aumen as celebrant.  A visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:15AM at the church.  Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA with Military Honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail. Reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kermit’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite #100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
