Laura S. Grosse

Laura S. Grosse, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, February 3, 2021 peacefully in her home. 

Born May 7, 1931, in Dunbar, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Maude (Jessee) Sydenstricker.  Laura was the loving wife of the late Robert E. Grosse who died May 9, 2015 and with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.  

Laura graduated from Dunbar High School, WV and attended Capitol City Commercial College. She worked as a secretary for various companies for over twenty years until retiring. 

Laura was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Hanover, PA.  She was a missionary president and Sunday school teacher for several years, led various senior activities, and was a devoted Pastor’s wife. Laura had a very strong faith in the Lord, and it was obvious by her abundance of kindness, charity and witness of God’s love to the very end.

Laura loved her family dearly and enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Laura is survived by her children, Brian L. Grosse of Maumee, OH, Christopher D. Grosse of Hingham, MA, and Sherry D. Grosse of Hanover, PA; five grandchildren, Christopher Grosse Jr., Jeffrey Grosse, Jennifer Grosse, Matthew Grosse, and Robert Grosse; one great-grandchild, Timothy Grosse; and a sister, Margaret Darnold of Fort Pierce, FL.  She was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.

A graveside service to celebrate and remember Laura’s life will be held 11:00AM, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, with Rev. David Breedlove officiating.    

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Laura’s memory to Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 205 Fulton Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
