Lester Louey, Jr.

Lester Louey, Jr., 90, of Hanover, PA, entered God's eternal care, Sunday, August 11, 2024, at home with his loving family by his side.

Born October 25, 1933, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Lester F. and Mary J. (Lawyer) Louey.  Lester was the loving husband of Martha E. (Hartlaub) Louey with whom he shared 71 years of marriage.

Lester was a member of God’s Missionary Church, Hanover, PA, and a life member of the McSherrystown Fish and Game Association.

Lester retired from Utz Quality Foods with over 20 years of service as a route salesman.  He was also the owner operator of Louey’s Gun Shop from 1959-1970, Louey’s Antique Cars and parts from 1970-2024 and Louey’s Antiques from 1990 to 2018.

Lester enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and shooting clays.

In addition to his wife, Martha, Lester is survived by one son, Steven Louey and wife Sylvia, one granddaughter, Shannon Miller, two great granddaughters, Nicole Wagner and Courtney Fricke, three great great grandchildren, Kylie, Carson, and Carlee, three step grandchildren, Christina Cloud, Troy Wagaman, and Stacey Staub, and five step great grandchildren, Tyler Cloud, Kayla Cloud, Emma Cloud, Troy Wagaman, Jr. and Jasmine Crea, and one step great great grandson, Tatum.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Adams and Delores Rogers.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Lester will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Tony Gonzales and Rev. Barry Sweitzer, Jr.  Burial will be in York Road Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 – 11 AM, Friday, August 16, 2024, at the funeral home.
