Lloyd J. Fisher, 93, of Hanover, PA, earned his heavenly wings as he entered God's eternal care, Thursday, September 21, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side. Born October 10, 1929, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Lloyd S. and Matilda C. (Gobrecht) Fisher. Lloyd was the loving and devoted husband of the late Vonnie L. (West) Fisher with whom he shared 55 years of marriage until her passing on January 18, 2012.
Lloyd was a 1950 graduate of the Eichelberger High School, Hanover, PA. He was a veteran who served his country proudly as a part of the United States Army. He was a self-employed lifetime carpenter and jack-of-all trades. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church.
Lloyd was a hardworking, loyal, kind, loving, strong, amazing man who kept well on the move into his 90's, but looked and moved like he was at least 25 years younger. He was also a wonderful craftsman & gardener, and when he was not working, he enjoyed doing things around his house, maintaining his home & garden, working in his workshop, watching westerns, game shows & sports on tv, and loved playing checkers & board games with his grandchildren, and loved spending time with all his family.
Lloyd is survived by two sons, Bradley K. Fisher and his wife Angela of McSherrystown, PA, and Frederick L. Fisher of Spring Grove, PA, 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jaime, Jody, Joy, Bradley II, Quintin Lloyd, Braxtin, and Maddox, 12 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Paul III, Tucker, Aubrey, Brayden, Kirsten, Jacob, Madalyn, Elias, Rylee, Everly, and Journey, 1 great-great-grandchild, Slade, two sisters, Nancy L. Altland of Spring Grove, PA, and Doris M. Andrine of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John T. Fisher, Richard W. Fisher, LeRoy E. Fisher, and two sisters, Betty J. Rorrer and Mary M. Riley.
Following cremation, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
