Lorraine M. Bolden, 88, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at UPMC – Hanover Hospital.
Born March 7, 1936, in East Berlin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Sadie (Copenhaver) Swope. Lorraine was the loving wife of Russell E. Bolden with whom she shared sixty-nine years of marriage on July 2, 2024.
Lorraine was a member of St. Bartholomew United Church (ELCA), Hanover, PA, and was a member of the Women of ELCA.
Lorraine enjoyed oil painting, farming, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her friends and family.
In addition to her loving husband, Russell, Lorraine is survived by three children, Sandra J. Bolden and husband Robert Powers of Hanover, PA, Russell E. Bolden, Jr. and wife Cathy of East Berlin, PA, and Brian V. Bolden and wife Sara of Mifflinburg, PA; three grandchildren, Jenny Shrader and husband Kevin of Conway, SC, Timothy Bolden and wife Jobie of Abbottstown, PA, and Katie Hankey and husband Hayes of York Springs, PA; four great-grandchildren, Jarrod, Delana, Casen, and Kimberly; and three step-grandchildren, Dylan Linn, Brandon Linn, and Nickali Conklin. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Harold L. Swope, Clinton F. Swope, Francis Swope, Floyd Swope, Anna Becker, and Nelda Teal; and a step-grandchild, Reese Conklin.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Lorraine will be held 11 AM, Friday, July 19, 2024, at St. Bartholomew’s United Church (ELCA) 1204 Grand Valley Road, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Steven E. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Bartholomew’s Church Cemetery. Viewings and times to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8PM, Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, and from 10-11AM, Friday, July 19, 2024, at the church.
