Luke M. Wadel

Luke M. Wadel, age 71, of Bourbon, died at 7:14 pm, Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka after a short illness.  He was born December 7, 1950 in Chambersburg, PA to Noah and Lydia (Horst) Wadel.

In 1971, he married Judith Frey.  She preceded in death June 15, 1998.  Mr. Wadel moved to this area in May of 2016.  He had worked as a carpenter.

Surviving are his children, Janelle (Brent) Slabaugh, Bourbon, LaVern (Donella) Wadel, Dodge Center, MN; grandchildren, Janessa Slabaugh, Beverly Slabaugh, Joelle Slabaugh, Bensen Slabaugh, Josiah Slabaugh, Linsay Wadel, Gareth Wadel, Landin Wadel; and siblings, John (Connie) Wadel, Chambersburg, PA, Esther (Lester) Showalter, Creencastle, MD, Eunice Lehman, Hanover, PA, Martha (Issac) Horst, Millen, GA,  Daniel (Esther) Wadel, Chambersburg, PA, James (Ellen) Wadel, Mexico, and Robert (Brenda) Wadel, Chambersburg, PA.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Noah Wadel

Family and friends may call from 5-8, on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Bair’s Meeting House Mennonite Chapel in Hanover, 6925 Hanover Road, Hanover, PA.  Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 23rd at 10:00 am also at Bair’s Meeting House Mennonite Chapel.  Burial will be in York Road Cemetery.
