Mabelle I. Horick

Mabelle I. Horick, 88, of Dover, PA , entered God's eternal care, Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Misericordia Nursing Home, York, PA.

Born May 9, 1935, in Stoverstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Jenny (Emig) Klinedinst. Mabelle was the loving wife of the late Donald L. Horick, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage until his passing on April 21, 2013.

Mabelle was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Spring Grove, PA.  She worked as a housekeeper for Howard Johnsons and the Days Inn for over 27 years until her retirement.

Mabelle enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening and was an avid Elvis fan having visited Graceland in Memphis, TN.

Mabelle is survived by a son, Gary A. Horick Sr. and wife Joan of Dover, PA, a daughter, Deborah K. Myers and husband Greg of Manchester, PA, and a daughter, Amy Chakour and husband Mountie of Dover, PA, seven grandchildren, Lukas M. Frey, Daniel E. Myers, Suzanne M. Smith, Gary A. Horick, Jr., Amanda L. Horick, and Joey Bruno, eleven great grandchildren, Dawson, Christian, Madison, Vanessa, Victoria, Sophia, Arie, Kendra, Austin, Ezra, and Leia, and one great great grandson, Archie.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Francis Klinedinst, George Klinedinst, Richard Klinedinst, and Rosie Kottcamp.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Mabelle will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 2173 Stoverstown Road, Spring Grove, PA,  with her Pastor the Rev. Dave Martin officiating.  Burial will be in St. David's Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 to 11 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the church.

Serving as casketbearers will be Gary A. Horick Sr., Gary A. Horick Jr., Greg A. Myers, Lukas  Frey, Joey Bruno, Daniel Myers, Christian Horick and Dawson Horick.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mabelle’s memory St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 2173 Stoverstown Road, Spring Grove, PA 17362.
