Marcia E. Peters, 80, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Homewood at Plum Creek Retirement Home, Hanover, PA.
Born August 6, 1941 in Syracuse, New York , she was the daughter of the late William and Margery (Marshall) English. Marcia was the loving husband of the late Chester C. “Chet” Peters with whom she shared fifty-four years of marriage until his passing on May 15, 2018.
Marcia was a 1959 graduate of Syracuse Central High School, and a 1963 graduate of State University of NY, Albany. She received her Master’s Degree from Western Maryland College. Mrs. Peters retired from South Western High School in 2007, where she taught Psychology, Sociology and Social Studies courses for 25+ years.
Marcia was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA, volunteered at Hanover Hospital as a PAL representative, a volunteer at the Guthrie Memorial Library, and a Docent at the Myers Mansion.
Marcia enjoyed vacationing in Florida, reading, and loved spending time with her family.
Marcia is survived by her daughters, Cara Lynn Clabaugh of Uniontown, PA and Wendy Peters of Merritt Island, FL; three grandchildren, Zach Clabaugh and wife Marlee, Brady McConnell and Brooks McConnell; and a sister-in-law, Janet L. Peters of Chambersburg, PA.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Marcia’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 129 Charles Street, Hanover, PA, with her Pastor, the Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Dubs Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the church.
Serving as Casketbearers will be Zach Clabaugh, Brady McConnell, Brooks McConnell, Kris Raubenstine, Tom Long, and Don Seidenstricker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marcia’s name to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 129 Charles Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
