Margaret Edna Jacoby-Lingg, 83, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at York North Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born August 21, 1942, in MD, and later moved to PA with her family, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe Richard Henry and Helena (Klaas) Stewart.  Margaret was the loving wife of John L. Lingg with whom she shared 23 years of marriage, and the late Robert L. Jacoby who died June 29, 1989. 

Margaret was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ, Spring Grove, PA.

Margaret was a 1961 graduate of the 1st graduating class of South Western High School, in Hanover, PA.  She worked for Hanover Brands for nearly thirty years until her retirement.

Margaret was a member of the Tuesday Connection Club at the JCC of York and she was in the water aerobics class at the Hanover YMCA.

Margaret loved crocheting, word searches, softball, telling jokes, decorating birthday cards and cards during the holiday season, and telling stories – and just making everyone feel comfortable around her. 

In addition to her loving husband John, Margaret is survived by her children, Todd R. Jacoby and companion Chisato Wallman, of Hanover, PA, and Wade S. Jacoby and wife, Liza Jesusa Jacoby, of York, PA; 1 grandson, Zach Jacoby; and a brother, Karl Stewart of Hanover, PA.  She was preceded in death by three siblings, Anna Hilbert, Fred Stewart, and Richard Stewart.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Margaret will be held at 11AM, Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. with the Rev. Lou Ann Jones officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Silver Run, MD.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10-11AM, Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the funeral home.  

Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s name to the charity of your choice.
