Margaret M. “Peg” Weaver, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at UPMC Hanover Hospital.
Born October 8, 1936, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Markle) Rang. Peg was the loving wife of the late Eugene F. “Gene” “Skip” Weaver with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on August 22, 2009..
Peg was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, serving on many church committees.
Peg was a 1954 graduate of Delone Catholic High School. She served as the Field Manager for the South Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Heart Association for two years, prior to joining the AHA, she served as Community Relations Coordinator for the Visiting Nurse Association of Hanover & Spring Grove and was previously employed as a Field Representative responsible for the Hanover Branch of the York Unit of the American Cancer Society, before taking the position as President of the Gettysburg & Adams County Chamber of Commerce for many years until her retirement.
Peg was an avid reader, with an insatiable quest for knowledge, she loved flying, and even went skydiving - taking her 1st jump with her husband Gene, who during his flying career flew thousands of skydivers on their first jumps. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, friends, and family.
Peg is survived by three children, Bonnie J. Spalding and husband John of New Oxford, PA, Frederick E. Weaver of Hanover, PA, and Clifford A. Weaver and wife Joyce of New Oxford, PA; 9 grandchildren; Eric Klunk, Sarah Klunk, Jenine Weaver, Lisa Wolfe, Ricky Weaver, Freddie Weaver, Carissa Cole, Brian Wilson, and Nathan Hayhurst; 15 great-grandchildren, Jayden Klunk, Ashton Klunk, Jonah Klunk, Quentin Weaver, Camryn Weaver, Preston Buchanan, Kaylin Weaver, Charlotte Wolfe, Bailey Spielman, Saige Thompson, Marlee Thompson, Bailey Hayhurst, Carrie Duvall, Rachel Selby, and Bear Wilson; seven great great grandchildren; Corey Klunk, Rylen Klunk, Parker Spielman, Jameson Spielman, Salem Spielman, Omen Thompson, and Avalyn Selby; and five siblings, Jane Dillman of Cumberland, MD, Janet Barnes of Reisterstown, MD, Joyce Smith of Allentown, PA, Sally Little of Philadelphia, PA, and Mike Rang of Hanover, PA. She was preceded in death by a great grandson Jameson in 2008.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA, with Father Michael P. Reid, II as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Vincent Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:30AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the church.
