Marie G. Berwager, 93, of Spring Grove, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 8, 1927 in Westminster, MD, she was the daughter of the late David H. and Annie E. (Jones) Stremmel.
Marie was a member of Black Rock Church of the Brethren, Glenville, PA. She was a very hard-working woman and worked at many different jobs over her lifetime, the last of which was at Winter Gardens until her retirement in 1992.
Marie enjoyed reading but most of all loved providing and caring for her family.
Marie is survived by her daughters, Jeannie Dusman and husband John of Hanover, PA, Karen Griffie and husband Clyde of Hanover, PA, and Tina Redding and husband Terry of Spring Grove, PA, seven grandchildren, Scott Dusman and wife Jennifer, Stacy Shue and husband Galen, Angie Stanton and husband Jamie, Lori Dusman, Jessica Jordan and husband Michael, Katelyn Redding and Nicholas Redding, seven great grandchildren, Heather and husband Ben, Brent, Jena, Miranda, Leah, Sarah, and Sammi, three great great grandchildren, Addison, Raelynn, and Caleb, and four siblings, Anna Mancha, Clyde Stremmel, Kenneth Stremmel, and Dale Stremmel. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet L. Berwager, and two brothers, Nevin Stremmel, and Merle Stremmel.
A service to celebrate and remember Marie’s life will be held 11 AM, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Black Rock Church of the Brethren Church, 3864 Glenville Road, Glenville, PA with her Pastor the Rev. Brandon Grady officiating. Burial will be in Black Rock Church of the Brethren Cemetery. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA as well as from 10 – 11AM, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the church.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, those attending the visitation will be required to wear masks, be socially distanced and attendance inside the funeral home and church may be limited. The service will be live streamed at www.kenworthyfh.com for those who cannot attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marie’s name to the Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Road, Glenville, PA 17329.
