Mary Doyle Obituary

Mary Emma Doyle, 93, of Gettysburg, PA, entered God's eternal care on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital, Gettysburg, PA.

Born June 29, 1931, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of Phares W. and Helen I. (Musselman) Harget.  Mary was the loving wife of the late Lester M. Doyle, Jr., with whom she shared 63 years of marriage until his passing on June 4, 2012.

Mary was a member of St. David’s United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA.

Mary was a seamstress for many years in the clothing manufacturing industry.

Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and going on long drives.

Mary is survived by her children, Larry E. Doyle of Hanover, PA, Bonnie L. Smith of Leeds, AL, Robert J. Doyle of Mocksville, NC, Debera A. Bubb of Glenville, PA, Stephen L. Doyle of Abbottstown, PA, and Rodney A. Doyle of Hanover, PA; eight grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Bruce W. Harget, Robert C. Harget, Kenneth L. Harget, James F. Harget, Phares H. Harget, Donald E. Harget, Bernice Cool, Jean Tharp, and Patricia Kwedar.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Mary will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating.  Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00AM, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary’s name to St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
