Mary E. Keller, 84, of Gettysburg, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at her home.
Born July 25, 1939, in Adams County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. & Marie E. (Frommeyer) Keller.
Mary graduated from Delone Catholic High School in June 1957. Following graduation, Mary professed her faith and joined the Sisters of Christian Charity, in September of 1957. After that, she became a teacher and taught many years with Christian Charity in Mendham, NJ, and then with Emmaus Community of Christian Hope as well. Mary returned to PA and then continued to teach and work with the Sisters of Emmaus until her retirement in 1998. She spent her entire life teaching as a Sister of the Catholic Church.
Mary was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Gettysburg, PA.
In her free time, Mary enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by 9 siblings, Joanne M. Stull of Aspers, PA, Fred C. Keller of Mechanicsburg, PA, Anna M. Noel of Hanover, PA, Teresa B. Albin of Chapel Hill, NC, Jane F. Keller SSJ, of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Freedom, PA, Rita C. Klunk of New Oxford, PA, Michael J. Keller, Patrick J. Keller, Loretta J. Reever, all of Gettysburg, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph Keller and Leo Keller.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and remember Mary’s life will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325, with Father Benny Jose officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Cemetery.
Viewings and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg, PA, as well as from 9-10 AM, Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Parish.
