Mary L. Schuman

Mary L. Schuman, 71, of New Oxford, PA, entered God’s eternal care Friday, July 21, 2023,  at the York Hospital.

Born February 7, 1952, in Ellicott City, MD, she was the daughter of the late David and Helen (Riddle) Carter.  Mary was the loving wife of Laurence C. Schuman and shared more than 50 years together.

Mary retired from Estes Trucking where she worked as a dispatcher for over 12 years.

Mary enjoyed crafting when she was younger, decorating, and watching her favorite shows on TV.  She especially enjoyed being with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband Laurence, Mary is survived by her children, Laura E. Leahy of Westminster, MD, Candy L. Diehl of Sykesville, MD, and Joshua S. Schuman of Spring Grove, PA, and her siblings, Marie Palmer of Ellicott, City, MD, Peggy Harig of DE,, Gloria Jasper of Westminster, MD, and Carol Brann of Taneytown, MD.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Stanley Justice and Donna Geyer.

Mary loved her 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Sydney, Brandon, Miles, Samantha, Ethan and Emmye which were her pride and joy.

Following Cremation, a service to celebrate and remember Mary’s life will be held 11:30 AM, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  A visitation will be held from 10 – 11:30 AM, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the funeral home.
