Merlene Amoss

Merlene (Tipton) Amoss, 68, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at UPMC Harrisburg.

Born July 23, 1956, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Virginia (Bailey) Tipton.  Merlene was the loving wife of Gary L. Amoss with whom she recently celebrated thirty years of marriage.

Merlene graduated from high school in Manchester, MD.  She worked as a packer at Delia’s for twelve years.

Merlene loved watching football and baseball and was a proud supporter of the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. She always had her favorite NASCAR drivers Chase and Bill Elliott.  She would always be pulling for them to win the race when it came to race day.

In addition to her loving husband Gary, Merlene is survived by a son, Jeremy M. Amoss of Fairborn, OH; and her siblings, James Tipton of Panama City, FL; Laura Tipton Rheault of Miami, FL; and Angela Hardeman.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Tipton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
