Michael G. Carter Obituary

Michael Gilbert Carter (70) passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at home. Michael was the son of the late Gilbert and Marylou Carter, the husband of Jennifer (Warehime) Carter, with whom he shared 24 years of marriage, and the father of Zachary Michael Carter and John Gilbert Carter.

Michael was born on October 11, 1955, in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia C. Hudgins. He is survived by a sister, Susan Carter of Richmond, Virginia, brothers-in-law Paul Hudgins, Jeffrey and Amy Warehime, J. Andrew and Michelle Warehime, and nieces and nephews Kyle Hudgins, Adam Warehime, Jack Warehime, Jonah Warehime, Faith Warehime and Sophia Warehime. He enjoyed warm relationships with several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with his lifelong best friend, Mark Meador of Richmond, Virginia.

Michael was Vice-President of Private Label Sales at Hanover Foods Corporation for over 25 years. His greatest pride and joy were his sons, Zach and Gil. He was intensely proud of their accomplishments, and enjoyed teaching them his favorite hobbies, including fishing, antique collecting, and watching movies. Michael always loved the annual Christmas Eve parties, where he enjoyed wearing his famous Hawaiian shirts. He will be greatly missed by his beloved dogs, Ava, Gracie, and Hank.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s name to the S.P.C.A. of York County, 3159 N Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.

Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.
