Mildred S. Arentz, 96, of McSherrystown, PA, entered God's eternal care, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at home with her loving family by her side.
Born April 1, 1926, in Detour, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Cora M. (Starner) Shelton. Mildred was the loving wife of the late Fred L. Arentz with whom she shared 52 years of marriage until his passing on March 14, 1998.
Mildred attended First United Methodist Church, Hanover, PA.
Mildred worked in housekeeping at Homewood Retirement Center for many years until her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, cooking, reading, spending time with her family, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by two daughters, Lori Carver of Hanover, PA, and Melissa Glatfelter of McSherrystown, PA; five grandchildren, Ashley Eckenrode, Megan Carver, Matthew Carver, Morgan Kemper, and Grayson Kemper; one great grandchild, Cayde Strausbaugh; two sisters, Hazel Phillips of Hanover, PA, and Janet Swartz of Littlestown, PA; and one brother, Delmar Shelton of Littlestown, PA. She was preceded in death by a son, Fred “Bud” Arentz, Jr., four sisters and three brothers, Charles Shelton, Audrey King, Kenneth Shelton, Ruth Shaffer, Dorothy Sanders, Viola Schachle, and Robert Shelton.
A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Marburg Memorial Gardens, 2510 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Dr. B. Michael Brossman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mildred’s name to First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
