Mildred L. (Wentz) Hershey, 93, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side.
Born April 8, 1932, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd S. and Miriam L. (Warner) Wentz. Mildred was the loving wife of the late John W. Hershey, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage until his passing on April 4, 1990.
Mildred was a 1949 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Hanover, PA. She worked as a baker for Parker House Bakery and as a seamstress for My Lisa Sewing Factory.
Mildred was a life-long member of Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA.
Mildred was a good cook, and an excellent seamstress – making mostly all of her own clothing, drapes, and Halloween costumes. She loved cats, especially her two cats, Rosie and Snoops.
Mildred is survived by three children, Steven W. Hershey, of Hanover, PA, Karen L. Weigel of Manhattan Beach, CA, and Kimberly Hershey Aumen of Glen Rock, PA; six grandchildren, Kip A. Hershey, Karl W. Hershey, Dana L. Burns, Andrew W. Hershey, Kelly D. Hoffmaster, and Griffin K. Weigel; and eight great-grandchildren, Turner Hershey, Paisley Burns, Leighton Hershey, Etta Burns, Henley Hershey, Eloise Hoffmaster, Sutton Hershey, and Phoebe Hoffmaster. She was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin E. Wentz.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Mildred will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Pastors Fred Young and Amy Fawks co-officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00AM, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the funeral home.
