Nancy J. Garrett

Nancy J. Garrett, 93, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the UMPC Hanover Hospital.

Born November 26, 1930, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mark E. and Arvilla C. (Garrett) Garrett.   Nancy was the loving wife of the late Carroll E. Garrett Jr, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage until his death May 25, 2007.

Nancy graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester, MD, Class of 1947.  Prior to her retirement in 2007, she was a secretary for 39 years at South Western High School, 1968-2007.

Nancy was a member of St. David’s United Church of Christ as of October 12, 1945, for 78 years.

Nancy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Garrett of Spring Grove, PA, grandson Cory M. Garrett and wife Patti of Glen Rock, PA, granddaughter, Amy A. Stough and fiancée Chris Nisbet of Bunker Hill, WV,  great granddaughter, Jasmine E. Garrett-Lam and fiancée Mike Perko of Spring Grove, PA, two great grandsons,  Sawyer and Nevin, and a great great grandson Asher as well as nieces nephews, cousins, and friends.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael D. Garrett in 2010 and Robert E. Garrett in 1957, one great granddaughter, McKenna Garrett in 2013, one sister, Gladys R. Leppo and husband William, two brothers, Sterling L. Garrett and wife Audrey, Mark “Buck” Garrett and wife Dorothy, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Butt and husband Milton, and a brother- in-law, G. Richard Garrett and wife Shirley.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Nancy’s life will be held 12PM, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA , with her Pastor, Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7PM Friday, March 15, 2024 and from 10am to 12 Pm Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the funeral home.
