Nancy Elaine Markle, 76, of Dover, PA, entered God's eternal care Friday, March 8, 2024, at UPMC Hanover.
Born May 12, 1947, in Tyrone Township, Adams County, PA, Nancy was the daughter of the late Milton and Lula (Miller) Wetzel. Nancy was the loving wife of Richard Anthony Markle, to whom she was married for 48 years until his death on January 29, 2017.
Nancy graduated from South Western High School in the class of 1965.
Nancy enjoyed working through the years. Early, she was a dental hygienist, but later became a retail store manager and also served as a receptionist for several businesses.
Nancy was a member of the Hanover Area Historical Society, where she served for 30 years. As a former President and a long-time docent, she enjoyed giving tours at both the Warehime-Myers Mansion and The Neas House in Hanover and serving as a caretaker for both estates.
In her free time, Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved holidays, nature, decorating, fashion, volunteering, and giving to others.
Nancy attended Trinity United Church of Christ in Hanover.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Beth Anne Harbaugh and fiancé Chris Campbell of Hanover, and Brandy Swoyer and husband Brian of Fayetteville, 4 grandchildren, Kayla McCachren, Kyle McCachren, Dylan Harbaugh, and Braidon Dockey, and 1 great grandchild, Dakota Altland.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Nancy’s life will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331. Viewings and time to share memories with the family will be: 6-8 PM, Wednesday, March 13, 2024, and 9 to 10 AM, Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the funeral home.
