Nevin J. Leppo, 87, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, August 28, 2021, at his cottage at Homewood at Plum Creek, surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 22, 1934, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Sadie V. (Krumrine) Leppo. Nevin was the loving husband of Romaine G. (Wildasin) Leppo with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Nevin was a member of St. David’s United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA.
Nevin was a veteran, serving his country proudly in the United States Army and in the Army Reserves.
Nevin retired in 1996, having worked as a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service for over thirty years and was also a painter for many years up until he turned 80. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Fire Company, the West Manheim Township Planning Commission for several years, the Rough and Tumble Engineers, the Collectors Club of South East PA – Chapter #8, the International Harvester Collectors Worldwide, and the Heritage Committee of West Manheim Township.
Nevin enjoyed farming, collecting farm toys, and especially loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his loving wife Romaine, Nevin is survived by his sons, Kevin J. Leppo and wife Deb of Hanover, PA, Scott A. Leppo and wife Ginger of Hanover, PA, and Kory L. Leppo and wife Karen of Myerstown, PA; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine A. Slusser and Nadine S. Wentz.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Nevin will be held 11:00AM, Friday, September 3, 2021, at St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA, with his Pastor the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA, with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail providing Military Honors. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA as well as from 10 -11 AM, Friday, September 3, 2021, at the church.
